We have performed an evaluation on behalf of the Danish Business Authority who wanted to know how Danish companies deal with green business development in practice. We delivered an analytical report and a mini guide based on our evaluation tool ‘The Model of Change’. The Model of Change is developed especially for the energy sector, and we use it to evaluate the impact of green initiatives. The model takes the context and mechanisms into account that either constitute a barrier or a driver for successful sustainable transition.

 

We know what mechanisms have an impact on the change process, and based on that knowledge, we can help you identify what steps you need to take. We support the change process all the way, which is crucial for successful benefits realisation in your company.

 

Can new technology help people change energy behaviour, and, if yes, how? This is what we have investigated in the PROAK project where we conducted a cross-disciplinary impact evaluation of energy visualisation concepts in four different housing associations.

Examples include the project ‘Pick your food with the mobile’ and LAGI – international art and energy competition on energy-producing sculptures. Furthermore, we have developed concepts for how to incorporate energy data into teaching in municipal schools.

How do we enhance security and privacy at the application layer? How do we security-optimise the infrastructure of production systems for the smart grid?

 

Smart grid offers a wide range of benefits to society but is also vulnerable to attack. It is therefore vital to ensure both the availability of energy and the privacy of consumers.

 

One thing is to develop a smart grid infrastructure, another is to make it secure. This is what we focus on in the CHPCOM project where we collaborate with a number of stakeholders on the Danish energy market to develop a secure technical platform for the smart grid.

 

We provide advice on how to visualise data in a secure manner that complies with the data protection rules; what you should do to increase security; and how you can benefit from a security optimisation. We can also help you develop the right solutions. 

The role of consumers is changing, and it is vital to encourage consumer engagement in energy issues. This makes new demands on consumers, utility companies and other stakeholders. Utility companies are facing an increasing need to differentiate themselves in the market to maintain existing customers and capture new business.

When developing solutions to address sustainability challenges, we combine three areas of expertise: Technology, human behaviour and energy consumption. By understanding the interplay among these elements, we can help promote sustainable behaviour and develop innovative IT-enabled solutions that meet the end users’ needs. With this approach, we help our customers to develop the right solutions for their consumers.
