Thomas Kim Kjeldsen

I have a PhD in theoretical physics from Aarhus University. In my PhD project I studied mainly the interaction of atoms and molecules with intense lasers. In order to obtain an accurate theoretical description of these processes I developed numerical simulation tools with a special view to parallelised design so that the simulation could be executed efficiently on the cluster computing systems of the time (2003-2007).

After I completed my education, I worked as a postdoc at Aarhus University and later as AIX and Linux system administrator at IBM.

Currently I am working on the project "Optimized Brain Reading" and a research project on the development of ultrasound scanners of the future.

My competences include e.g.:

  • Numerical solutions of partial differential equations
  • Parallelisation of algorithms on distributed systems and GPU
  • Atomic, molecular and optical physics
  • AIX and Linux system administration
  • Virtualisation and clustering on IBM POWER platforms
  • HTML5, WebGL

Programming, mainly in Fortran, C++, Perl, Unix shells, PHP, Matlab.
