Mirko Presser

I work as a specialist in the field of Smart Cities.

During the past years, I have been deeply involved in the research area of the Internet of Things working on a variety of technologies and system solutions in the context of several European FP6 and 7 initiatives and projects. In particular, I have been the technical manager of the European FP6 IST e-SENSE and the FP7 ICT SENSEI projects.

Currently, I am involved in FP7 ICT SmartSantander and IoT-i projects, and I am the Danish cluster leader and Dissemination Manager of the FP7 FI-PPP OUTSMART project. Topics that I have been working on are: Internet of Things architectures, integration of wireless sensor networks into the IP multimedia subsystem, semantic integration of sensor information, machine to machine communications as well as Smart City topics including Energy, Transport and Utilities.

I have a Masters degree in Physics with Astrophysics and a Masters degree in Telecommunications and Signal Processing from the University of Bristol as well as a PhD in Telecommunications from the University of Surrey.

Currently I am involved in:

  • FP7 ICT SmartSantander and IoT-i projects
  • Danish cluster leader and Dissemination Manager of the FP7 FI-PPP OUTSMART project.
